A turn-key renovation of a vacation rental condominium located in the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu. The client desired an updated, light and natural condo that could hold up to the wear and tear of guest usage, while also feeling rooted in its location, offering guests a friendly and easy stay.
The indoor-outdoor lifestyle of the Hawaiian islands inspired the design detail of applying the exterior board & batten wall cladding to the interior walls of the condo, blending the connection between indoor/outdoor. A textural, soft, sand-colored porcelain tile was used throughout the condo; allowing for heavy duty usage while being comfortable and inviting to the guests. A simple subway tile was used in the bathroom, laid in a basket weave pattern, to give texture and interest to a budget friendly tile.
